A panel discussion comprised of womenpreneurs #RealTalk, performances from various artists and the CEO of Simuka, Mathew Farai Ponde, will share with us his journey as an entrepreneur.

A SHORT DESCRIPTION

Creation – The action or process of bringing something into existence.

Our contention is that every human being is inherently creative and endlessly so. Our goal is to inspire creativity in individuals on an unprecedented scale. To draw it out and provoke a spirit of inventiveness that leads to tangible results/creations and solutions and ultimately the advancement of communities, countries and continents.

INSPIRE. INVENT. ADVANCE

• We ultimately want to promote enterprise and entrepreneurship on a massive scale in our nation and continent.
• We think that creativity and creatives in particular have a core role in that pursuit.
• Not only to define a narrative that inspires towards a better Africa but also to unlock unreached potential in existing enterprises through the application of creative thinking and exercises
• To this end we are developing a suite of initiatives, events and products to inspire a continent to invention and tangible advancement. That Beautiful Thing is the first of them.That Beautiful Thing is all about inspiration. Inspiration is the spark of creativity. Creativity is the seedbed of invention. Invention is the fuel of advancement.At That Beautiful Thing we seek to:

1. Promote the idea that everyone is creative and that creativity is not just a concept relegated to the realm of traditional artists but is much broader and, in fact, at the centre of every human endeavour.

2. Inspire the “creative” to relentlessly pursue creation and to use their craft to change the world – we do this by providing a safe and inspiring environment, positive feedback from an engaging audience in the form of our fortnightly events – and providing economic incentive through partnership with the Formation.

3. Inspire entrepreneurship and enterprise

• entrepreneurship is creative at its core and needs to continuously employ creative approaches and thinking to reach its highest success.
• There is some enterprise that does not necessarily have a financial upside yet is life-transforming.
• We believe Africa needs enterprise, entrepreneurs and inventors, not just job fillers.

4. Inspire beauty
– we want people to leave the evening having experienced something beautiful. The presenters, the art, the atmosphere and the engagements.
– We want people to want to make beautiful things and contribute beauty to the world.

5. Build a community.
A community of individuals who understand our cause, buy into it and are consciously building and benefiting from its agenda.
